Ants.. they can be everywhere and anywhere in your home. Yet, whenever you look for them, you can never find them. How can you look for an invasive species in your home when they aren’t looking to be found?
Well, the first thing that you can do is look for their nest or colony. Usually by following a single file ant line or a ‘trail of bread crumbs’ back to the nest. A scout ant will search areas for food and shelter, whether it be inside your home, or outside of it. The scout will leave a pheromone trail behind it, allowing the colony to follow it, in a single file. If you can find the line, you will be able to find where the colony ends up.
The next thing to do is to buy pesticide powder, specifically for killing ants. Sprinkling this powder on the ants will kill them, and allow you to vacuum them up without any resistance. Commercial traps are also available, which use bait to lure the entire colony in, and in one foul swoop, wipe them all out. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can hire and professional to take care of the infestation.
With all these tips in mind, you can continue on living in an ant-free home, and make sure of the more important things.
