Even though cooking at home is not as popular as it used to be, there are still many of us who like to cook our own food, whether it is for health reasons, finances or just the enjoyment of cooking. However, when you cook, there is a lot of grease and moisture that is released into the air. This is why you have an exhaust fan situated above your stove. Do you know for sure that the fan functions properly though? Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Just because the blades are spinning doesn’t mean that it takes care of the problem. First, it needs to be located in the right spot, directly above the stove, not to the side and not too far above. If this is not the case, it will not catch all the fumes released.
It also needs to be ducted to the outside. This ductwork should be sealed tightly, have as few turns as possible and the exhaust should be at least 10 feet away from any vents that take in air.
