Many times when the real estate market is hot (kind of like San Diego this time of year) and there are multiple offers on homes, people sometimes choose to skip the home inspection to make their offer look better – but this is a dangerous thing to do whether or not there are multiple offers on the table.
Likely you are already paying top dollar for the property if there are multiple offers, which means less money likely in your bank account after the transaction to make repairs on your home if issues are discovered later on. Also, buying a home with an issue may not effect you immediatley, but if you sell your home later on, the new buyers will likely have a home inspector who will then discover that issue – and you will be left paying for it. So be careful not to skip your home inspection – because it there to protect you.
