When you decide to do a project around your home, you might be using power tools. One very important factor to consider is what type of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required to do the job safely. PPE serves many diverse purposes. It might be hearing protection from the noise generated, a breathing device to protect you from dust or fumes, protective glasses to shield your eyes or just a pair of sturdy gloves to protect your skin from abrasions.
The point is that choosing the right PPE for the job is a very important part of your work.
If you are using power tools, it’s even more important to remember this. Your PPE should be worn the whole time you are working. Many times accidents happen when a person removes his PPE because he needs to do something that requires fine control, but in the end, the result is disastrous.
If you remove your PPE for a lunch break or something similar, make sure you remember to put it back on.
