According to one survey, an American male might spend about 105 minutes on the toilet every week. If you are a female, that number will average 85 minutes. If you have a family, the toilet will see a lot of use. Old fashioned toilets use up to 7 gallons per flush, so a lot of water will go through your toilet if this is the case. So, what should you do to make sure that your toilet is up to handling all of this?
For one thing, pay attention to any minor issues with your toilet. For example, if your flushing mechanism is old and leaky, this can add up to a lot of wasted water.
If you find that there are cracks in the tank or seat, you should replace your toilet as soon as possible, since you could end up with contaminated water leaking out onto the floor.
